Poolville ISD Families:
We hope all of our families and staff are doing well and enjoying time with their loved ones. As we promised in our initial communication with you concerning the school closure, Poolville ISD would like to share some updated information.
Tomorrow, Monday, March 16 beginning at 11:00AM in the Junior High student drop-off area, volunteers from our food service staff will be distributing perishable food items that we planned on using upon our return from a one-week Spring Break, along with items our PTO has provided from our high school student food pantry.
In addition to this, we will distribute the remaining “white food bags” that are normally distributed each Friday to students primarily at the elementary and junior high campuses. These food bags are a ministry outreach sponsored by our local Methodist Church and we thank them for this blessing.
This effort will be on a first come-first served basis until all items have been distributed.
In regards to our closure of school and activities – the UIL has suspended all athletic competitions until the end of the month but left the decision to practice up to the local school districts. Poolville ISD has made the decision to allow spring sport practices on a volunteer basis with no penalty for missing a practice during this time. Please contact our coaching staff for further details.
We are becoming aware of many community members/local congregations/groups that have offered assistance to families in need. As further details of these possible efforts become available we will strive to provide updates.
