Attention Poolville ISD Families:
Governor Greg Abbott announced today, Friday, April 17, 2020 that students would not return to Texas schools closing all campuses through the end of this school year.
EXECUTIVE ORDER GA16 : In accordance with the Guidelines from the President and the CDC, schools shall remain temporarily closed to in-person classroom attendance by students and shall not recommence before the end of the 2019-2020 school year.
Governor Abbot statements included – “The team of doctors advising us have determined that it would be unsafe to allow students to gather at schools for the foreseeable future. As a result, school classrooms are closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year”
The Texas Education Agency released a statement in support of Governor Abbot’s executive order stating in part that “Texas continues to prioritize the health and safety of our state’s millions of public school and private school students, teachers, staff and administrators. TEA fully supports the Governor’s actions and continues to work closely with districts across the state.”
Poolville ISD will continue our distance learning and food service efforts for the remainder of the school year and will also continue to provide updates in regards to grading policies/procedures and graduation. We continue to receive guidance from the Texas Education Agency daily and our Administrative Team will strive to make the best possible decisions for our students and staff while keeping CDC best practices and guidelines in mind.
Stay Safe and Well.
